The tube has very strong hardened steel at the ends, coated to stop fraying. Suitable for each size spool. The original model is for general use and nearly all thread types. The saltwater streamer model (blue) has a much wider tube and can be utilized for heavy thread, narrow chenille or yarn. The compact model is perfect when there may be limited room across the fly axis and for close work.
