A number of the same design features as popular D-L trailer winches, but with some necessary differences. In a nutshell, these winches can be utilized for vertical ifting, whereas trailer winches are for horizontal pulling only. Brake winches haven’t any ratchet, so they are at all times “in gear”….. there’s no neutral, or free-wheel mode. A friction braking system is built in, so the burden is at all times locked in place any time the deal with is released.
